Know That You Are Loved

Hey there. I’m really glad you’re here.

EqualiTees.Me LLC was created for people who care deeply, speak up loudly, and believe in showing up for each other. This brand is rooted in community, visibility, compassion, and the belief that what we wear can say something powerful.

I started this because I couldn’t sit quietly while so many people were being targeted, dismissed, threatened, and made to feel unsafe. Women, LGBTQIA+ people, Black communities, Indigenous communities, immigrants, disabled people, and so many others deserve respect, protection, and support.

I was taught to love people. To see color. To respect culture. To value diversity, equity, and inclusion. To learn real history, even when it is uncomfortable.

That is why we are proudly pro-women, pro-trans, pro-queer, pro-Native, pro-Black, pro-immigrant, pro-disability rights, and pro-democracy. We are anti-fascist, anti-racist, and anti-bully.

There is strength in standing together. Our designs are made for people who want to wear what they believe in, whether that is for Pride, awareness months, holidays, protests, everyday visibility, or simply because the message matters.

A little backstory.

I grew up in a small town and in a very religious environment. I knew I was gay from a young age, but I was scared of what that meant. I worried people would find out. I worried they would hate me for it. My story is not unusual. It is the same fear so many queer kids grow up carrying, especially in places where acceptance is not guaranteed.

Over time, I lost my faith, but I kept going to church for the music and because of one priest who made a real difference in my life. He was kind, accepting, loving, and easy to talk to. He welcomed strangers with a smile and made people feel seen.

Every Sunday, he ended his sermon by saying:

“Know that you are loved. Remember that. Know that you are loved.”

He would repeat it into the microphone a few times. No matter what I was going through, those words stayed with me. They helped me believe that things could get better. They reminded me that I was loved, even when I was struggling to believe it myself.

A couple of summers ago, Project Rainbow hosted a drag story hour at our local library. Before the event, the usual outrage started online. People were angry, hateful, and loud. I was worried protesters would show up and make it harder for families and kids to enjoy what should have been a fun, welcoming event.

I wanted to help drown out the ugliness with something better, so I painted a 7x30 banner in rainbow colors and wrote “KNOW THAT YOU ARE LOVED” across it in big, bold letters.

That banner became a shield. It helped block the protesters from view and replaced their hate with a message that people actually needed to see.

People loved it. It mattered. Their reaction inspired me.

Since then, the banner has been used in Pride parades and other events to keep spreading that same message.

That is the heart of EqualiTees.Me LLC.

It is about making people feel seen. It is about standing with marginalized communities. It is about pushing back against hate, discrimination, cruelty, and fear. It is about reminding people that they are not alone.

If someone sees what you are wearing and feels a little braver, a little safer, or a little more loved, then we have done something good.
